Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ladycakes for suggesting the hosting site. That was much easier than I thought it would be.

[livejournal.com profile] amarama outdid herself!

[identity profile] mactavish.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
For some reason, I expected one holding an apple. :)

[identity profile] felicks.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
that icon is fucking core.

[identity profile] felicks.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
I love how you've got the I didn't work yesterday, I won't work tomorrow poster up there. Somehow that completes the picture nicely.

fotos are fun

[identity profile] susannochka.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
whoo! glad you got the arms in the bowl, too. and a picture of Ama's cute sweater. and even though I missed the actual cake presentation, I can now practically hear the speakers...

[identity profile] ericaceous.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:21 am (UTC)(link)
That is just too excellent.

I love the aftermath shot.

Also, I want your kitchen table. Love those atomic age metal tables with their sweeping legs!

[identity profile] ladycakes.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
FANTASTIC! BRAVO!!! GENIUS!!!

oh...hey!!! I used to have that same kitchen table and I miss it really really bad. *sniff*

the story behind the icon

[personal profile] sabotabby 2004-10-26 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you know, I used to work in retail and we'd get these damned pro-lifers with their ickle fetus bits and dimes, and they'd try to pass off the undiffentiated tissue as something valuable. But we weren't fools, and we did not accept them as valid currency.

Actually, I'm completely making that up. I just find the chopped-up baby photographs on anti-abortion sites really, really funny.

I did used to work in retail, though.

[identity profile] chitinous.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, spectacular!!!

[identity profile] thewindrose.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
Now that is an impressive cake!! I'm so glad you were able to put up the photos!!

[identity profile] vestalvixen.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
You, sir, have outdone any birthday cake I have ever had.

[identity profile] arasay.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
1. I miss your kitchen.
2. I heart amarama, and bow at the altar of her disembodied baby cake.
3. Happy Birthday, old man.
4. I miss you. Come visit. We can drink beer in the dark.

[identity profile] surlygrrrl.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
what is your icon from? it looks painfully familiar & it is hurting my brain that i can't recall it.

Wow. The cake is smaller and the arms bigger than I thought they'd be.

[identity profile] gordonzola.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
hey, you're one offour people who may be able to ID that LJer!

and thanks. visit in the spring = definite!

[identity profile] arasay.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
Visit is most excellent news.

And while I'm intrigued, I have no clue what you're talking about in the first line.

[identity profile] freshwater-pr0n.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 10:45 am (UTC)(link)
Best cake ever.

I wish I knew sign language so I could tell what the babies were trying to spell.

[identity profile] tuliphead.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 10:53 am (UTC)(link)
ARMS RACE!!

[identity profile] tuliphead.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
that is a fantastic cake! if she has baby legs left over you can use them next year!

[identity profile] gwenzilla.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 11:52 am (UTC)(link)
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

what an excellent cake.

re: photo hosting -- may I also suggest Flickr? I'm mostly a DIY on-my-site gallery girl but I loooooove Flickr, it's super easy to use and lets you make little notes on your pix (like this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/gwen/960959/ ), has the whole community thing going on, you can hotlink, etc....it's free for up to 100 photos and actually stores more, it's just that just 100 show up in your archive but if you hotlinked a >100, it's still there...

[identity profile] afellowwaitress.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
Cake = teh_rad. I'll never be able to call someone "babycakes" again without thinking of this pic.

(Apologies to my friends, because I don't know how to link my picture like that as opposed to posting the damn thing in its enormity.)

[identity profile] amarama.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Woo hoo! My cake is famous!

[identity profile] amarama.livejournal.com 2004-10-26 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oops, your cake, G.
