Eating on I-5
Jul. 25th, 2006 10:47 amThe best part of the drive up to Portland was eating with
dairryiere and her kids in Eugene. (?) While waiting for our food, her kids both started playing with their silverware. Suddenly, they started, in unison, to stick their knife and fork straight up on either side of their heads yelling "Bunny ears!" (sometimes "fuzzy ears") then quickly pushing them forward at a 45 degree angle yelling "Devil Horns!"
We were laughing too hard to quiet them down or take a picture but it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Not sure the other diners shared that opinion.
I wish I had them with me on the way down when I ate at Elmer’s Family Restaurant in Salem and the next table kept interrupting their meal to clasp hands and pray loudly. Something about a court case and a child custody battle was being planned but it was too hot to follow the conversation. And their speaking voices were more quiet than their praying ones.
