i choose to believe that joan plays those ISO shows because she has the WORST BOOKING AGENT ON EARTH as evidenced by the venues you and i have seen her at in the last few years and the fact that she doesn't play LA or SF.
but i also think that she is patriotic in the way that many new yorkers are. they believe in America, whether or not they believe in the war.
