Favorite LJ post of 2006?

There is some great writing out there in LJ land that's easy to miss, forget, or scroll right past. I have already decided on my favorite public LJ post of 2006 for my year-end review which is now a couple of days late. But I didn't review my FL systematically in any way. I always forget about the LJ Memories feature.

So, Dear Readers, do you have any favorite public LJ posts of 2006? A post you made that deserves more attention? Linky linky in the comments section if you do. DO NOT link any Gordonzola posts below on the off-chance you were thinking of it. Today, unlike the other 364, is not about self-promotion.

my own self-promotion never stops

Even though it's a work in progress, I was actually kind of bummed this entry didn't get more attention. I just reread it and it's still cracking me up.

I am of course fond of my continuing europe series. The trip was 2005, but the posts continue on into 2007! (http://kest.livejournal.com/tag/europe+pics)

But if you want just one post, I think this one publicly sums up a few things I think are important.

My favorite news headline of the year (which i did in fact post in my journal, so it sorta counts) was:

"MAN APOLOGIZES FOR COURTROOM FECES"

it doesn't get any better than that.

i'm rather fond of that [profile] blackfolk post where someone tried to disqualify [profile] i_dreamed_i_was from running for token white because of the one drop rule, but i cant find it...

I don't know that it's a "favorite" post of 2006, but of recent reading:

For the past three years, I've been doing the "Best of 200x" in my lj memories. For 2004, I did a big roundup post with all of them, but I never did that for 2005. Still, check out my memories. Not all the posts are public and they may not be to your tastes, but they are all great and I think they rock.
