No, I have a Northern semi-middle class Canadian accent. BUT, I do say "yeah" where most Canadians say "eh." I used to say "hey," as in, "You went to high school in Prince George, hey?" which I picked up from an old union buddy, but sometime over the past few years I've drifted into "yeah." "So, I was late for the bus this morning, yeah? Which totally fucked my schedule for the whole day, etc."
Although, when I first watched it, I didn't realise that was what my mother was getting at, and I thought it might be more related to the fact that, for example, Isobel, who's still only four, half-asked, half-told me recently, "'Fuck' is badder than 'shit,' yeah?"
