Way too early to make predictions on the '08 season finale. Too many plot points that the writers haven't unveiled yet. :)
Although I will probably break my own intention on this, I think it's probably pointless to make a real prediction on the presidential race until late September. I think it's pretty hard to really know who will win until you get within a week of the actual election. Often, though, the thing is too close to call even at that point.
That's because you actually made a prediction based on polls, and graphs and blah blah. It's much easier just to go with your hunch. I say Obama in a comfortable win, no landslide, but no nail-biter either. I base this on the fact that if an opposition candidate can't win this year (with unpopular war, recession, and general Republican fatigue), they may never be able to again. That and it's just my best guess.
There are many theoretical scandals or historical events that could sink Obama, of course.
Obama takes Hillary out in the convention, and from there it's Obama versus McCain, and they battle it out neck-and-neck until November, when suddenly Hillary returns out of nowhere (audience: BUT WE THOUGHT SHE WAS DEAD!! OMG!!) and wins the election.
Instead of at the convention, this should take place at the homecoming dance, and Hillary, soaked from running through a rainstorm, should burst in to the crowd of seniors - all dressed in their rented tuxes and shoulderless dresses - who will part leaving only McCain and Obama, locked in the embrace of the final slow dance, in the center of the floor. Hillary will walk, determined and in slow motion, towards the pair and when she finally reaches them they will turn and stare at her, at first in horror and then in admiration, and will each drop to their knees before her. Then a cherub (actually the class nerd in paper wings) will be lowered from the rafters to place Hillary's crown upon her golden head!
