just cuz trainspotting got mentioned, i found that portrayal of junkiedom pretty lame and glamorizing. ewan mcgregor barely looked sick and he was always uber-styled. no, the shit/vomit/deadbaby horror didn't make up for this. i will qualify that i read the book first, and as is the case 99% of the time the film didn't stand a chance. but that book has a particular brilliance that barely came thru in translation.
