oh my god, talk about nostalgia! that was the conference that us Prison News Service folks (the very last version of the collective before we finally gave up the ghost) boycotted despite the organizers asking us a million times to do a workshop because we just couldnt' deal with the whiteness of it all (this was shortly before most of us realized that we should give up on the anarchists of color thing, cuz if not it was gonna be a long life of being angry like that.) that was the conference my now-girlfriend dj'd at as "dj supersnatch", which was a big joke but a lot of people unfortunately thought it was for real. did you meet her? probably orange hair, probably huge chain around neck, funny skits about doing netporn as a boygirl with a wig on. of course, now i wish i'd gone.
