The only movie I saw at this year’s film fest was the new "terrorist porn’ by Bruce LaBruce, "Raspberry Reich". If you wanna watch boys ejaculate while the Ulrike Meinhoff character yells, "The Revolution is my boyfriend!", "Join the homosexual Intifada!", "Heterosexuality is the opiate of the masses!", and "Death to the fascist insect that preys on the life of the people!" then this is the film for you. There’s even a hetero scene in this movie where they try to make their fucking a revolutionary act by literally taking it into the streets. The only make it as far as the lobby of their building unfortunately.

There are lots of ‘70s revolutionary in-joke and it honors/makes fun of the SLA as much as the RAF so the only reason I figure it was filmed in Germany and acted by Germans speaking English is that Bruce must have a thing for some German boy right now. My favorite part is the end of the film when a bunch of the characters meet up at "Terrorist Night" at the local gay bar. They recognize each other even when hooded, even though it’s years later, because, "You know, you just looked more authentic than everyone else."

He was present for the film but I didn’t stay for the Q&A. I never stay for festival Q&A but that’s a longer post for another time. He did manage a controversial introduction when he said, "What’s happened to San Francisco? It’s very disappointing. Everyone is getting married and having children. And it’s all the queers!" Applause and hisses followed.

and at Frameline it's practically mandatory. I remember a few years ago people hissing at the mention of the '50s era South African Apartheid laws. I really think we can all safely agree those were bad without demonstration, ok?

on the other hand, I do like it when audiences heckle the film with outbursts.

Well the worst for me was 2 years ago when everyone hissed at the frameline trailer EVERY TIME THEY SHOWED IT. OK, you don't like the trailer, we get it. I felt so sorry for whoever made that trailer.

which one was that? I do remember one that was exceptionally bad. Not that it excuses rudeness, of course.
