San Francisco, Portland, Seattle! Go see The Ex. The show tonight was amazing. If you don’t believe me, ask [livejournal.com profile] ilipodscrill [livejournal.com profile] no_doilies or [livejournal.com profile] magpiesf. These are the shows they’re playing in the next few days. The Ex is a 25–year-old Dutch, anarchist, squatter band, heavy on percussion and with a new upright bass player. Wow.

Also, I was derelict in my duties. The Husbands are on tour right now too. Tomorrow night is Worcester Mass, then they play Cambridge and DC, then they go down south and make their way back to SF. They’re not The Ex, but they’re garagey and fun. The singer is one of my favorite people in the whole world so you should check ‘em out.

they're _here_??

yeah! what he said! granted, im biased cause the ex are quite possibly my favorite band in the known universe, but the new bassist is *phenomenal*, a whole new dimension... a punk band that just keeps moving upward and outward and taking in new influences and always doing something fantastic and new and new ceasing to be fresh and interesting - theyve never ceased to be punk, but at the same time have grown to encompass so much that you can really only describe them as ex-music... ill be gushing for days after last nights show, and after tonights show im probably going to be a blithering mess of sonic ecstasy.

er, dont mean to rain on your parade, but before you get too excited you should check that show date, and remember that european date format places the day of the month first, then the month...

I wish I was on the west coast. I fucking love the Ex. Their punk versions of Spanish Civil War songs make them one of the best bands ever.

I love the Ex. I'm so jealous. I saw them the last time they were in town, and I just about cried, I was so excited.

Admit it, you were also hoping I would use The Accent.

I do not acknowledge the use of this so-called "accent".

Uh, I grew up in Worcester and spent my whole life pronouncing it that way. I was having a happy-dance Worcester Pride Moment after not being able to go home since '98.

Boston born and raised, except for some yeahs on the South Shoah. If I recall correctly, Gordon made fun of my use of the term, "Nor'Easter".

I haven't seen the Ex for, I dunno, 15 years, but they were great when I did - very interesting.

Wow. Wow, wow. I saw them tonight (for the first time in 12 years?) and I have one Mr. Gordonzola to thank for the tip. There is nothing like dancing barefoot in sticky beer to Eritrean freedom songs and drums by elder men in a beautiful old San Francisco dance hall/bordello. Amazing. (kittynitro, deleted)
