I'm really tired of being on a jury now.

well, we're already deliberating. we could have been done today if the windbag lawyers had finished earlier.

No good.

Only works when you've got everyone sufficently worked up enough so they'll get up at dawn to begin with..

Start insulting mothers.
That usually gets everyone ambitious.

Woah! That is bad. Here in England you get £5 a day (about $8.50) for food, but up to £60 a day for your time (about $105) if you earn that much in your job. And they had free internet in the court I was in! Do you get a bunch of no-shows each time? Or are they really harsh on that?

here they rely on one's workplace covering part of the juror's pay, inasmuch as they care at all. My workplace, basically, covers half of time missed but many pay nothing at all.

Honestly, I don't really think they do anything to no-shows. They could issue an arrest warrant, but I've never heard of it happening. I hear rumors of people who just throw out the notices every year, but then when they called roll, almost everyone was there.

Oh I so feel you with that shit.. It's like they force you by law to come sit in their jury room just so that they can charge you $9/hr to use the wifi.

and not a good sandwich for a mile in either direction. I hate that place.
