My cheesy year
Feb. 25th, 2008 11:44 amSorry I haven’t been around much lately. Between returning from vacation and fixing all the annoying new-computer problems, I haven’t had much LJ time. I got my itunes, e-mail, and bookmarks all set now so I’m good to go. I guess I should update all this planned obsolescent technology more often. Goodbye forever, Word 94.
My cheese life is already filling up for this year. Honestly, it’s a little scary.
Starting Sunday, I’ll be traveling from here to Sonoma for the 6th annual Cheesemaking Opportunities and Challenges Conference which I am way too involved in: on two panels and facilitating a third.
Immediately following that is the annoyingly-timed California Artisan Cheese Festival. I’ll be working at my job most of the weekend, but I’ll be at a benefit for the Cheese Guild Friday night and I think I’ve been pressed into service feeding cheese to the masses during the Sunday stuff-as-much-into-your-mouth-as-you-can fest.
(Locals, we may need to have a eat-leftover-cheese-at-Gordon’s-house party on Monday 3/10)
May 19 I’m supposed to be the retailer on a panel about raw milk cheese at, get this, The Comonwealth Club.
June, supposedly, is when my trip to France is rescheduled for. I’ll believe that when I see a ticket. The National worker co-op conference is supposed to be that month also.
A panel that I suggested will be happening at the American Cheese Society conference in July in Chicago.
Then, finally, I already know what I will be doing on my 41st birthday. Judging goat cheese at the American Dairy Goat Association Conference in Rodent Park.
I’m exhausted already. How are you folks?

Date: 2008-02-25 10:50 pm (UTC)Rodent Park! I got excited about that but I'm guessing it doesn't actually have a rodent petting zoo or anything.
Me, I'm okay. I'm going to Vienna in two days for a conference, and I'm giving a workshop! And I took part in my first flashmob yesterday! And I'm doing my first reading in a couple weeks! So yeah, busy I guess.

Date: 2008-02-26 01:34 am (UTC)and it's really "Rohnert Park" but no one who grew up in the North Bay calls it that. except for the folks from Rohnert Park, of course.
Workshopping in Vienna sounds fun!
