Longtimers will remember my friends who were queer-bashed over a year ago. Well, after stalling for months and months, the homophobic and racist dude pled guilty to everything including the hate crime charge. There is a sentencing hearing on Tuesday 4/6 where my friends will finally get to say their piece and they are asking for support. I’m not sure what time or what court yet but I’ll let you know.

The Bay Area Funk (1967-76) compilation that I acquired for my road trip is amazing. superchones will be happy to know there’s a song about MUNI. "Funky Driver on a Funky Bus" contains the completely unrealistic scenario where the MUNI driver misses the passenger’s stop. If only the singer had the chorus be a simple "Back Door! Back Door!". Hey Super C, how about a MUNI theme band? We could cover that Sick Pleasure song also. You know the one with the line "Let’s kill the MUNI driver, we’ll all ride free today" which always made we ask out loud, "But who’s gonna drive the bus?"*

1) Please know that I linked to this funk compliation months ago. I'm trying to get in the spirit of sharing, but frankly I feel that you've stolen it from me. You can have that Funky Bus song, but I claim Foxy Girls in Oakland as my own.

2) I want to be on your sports filter, not to hear about sports, but in case otherwise I miss anything like your recent Panthers vs Patriots "off the pigs" moment.

well, the driving not accepting the old transfer reeked of AC. But the driver skipping the stop and telling the passenger that he could take the bus to hell for all he cared, that's MUNI.

I rarely watch sports (international soccer, and the NCAA basketball tournament, and that's about it), but I don't see why someone should be ashamed of it to the point of filtering it.

It's not shame. It's just politeness. I view it as akin to astrology and dream posts. The people who want to discuss it get into the minutia that may be unseemly to the general population of my journal. I wouldn't want to frighten the horses.

I'd like to be included in the sport filter only if you talk about hockey. I don't like hockey, just as I don't like any sports, but I find it useful when I need to make small talk with white boys. I also like to show off my hockey knowledge which is just hearay since I don't like to watch games or read about it. I don't like hockey, but I sure love talking about it and pretending that I am a fan.

But if your sports filter is about baseball, basketball, or football, please don't include me. I don't need another sports facade to maintain.

I like sports. please filter me in. i knew stanfurd was gonna lose early also, except i had them losing to Maryland which didn't help me any. doh! I need OK State to beat Duke in the Finals and I will come in third in the two pools I am in. coool.
