More recalls more of the time

Can we admit now that the recall election has been a huge success? Grey Davis signed more "progressive" legislation in the last three months trying to win this election than he would have in eight years as Governor. If this thing strikes some fear into the career office holders, all the better. Sure it sucks that we’ll have Governor Groper in Sacramento, but in 100 days we can start the fun-train rolling again. More recalls more of the time!

But will there be Vacherin Mont D'or?

Big crackdown on raw milk cheese these days thanks to the Wall Street Journal article a couple of months ago and added security inspections post-9/11. Many more producers are making pasteurized versions solely for US export. Because these cheeses are name-controlled, they now have new pasteurized milk names. For instance, what was Valencay is now "Tradition Du Berry" and what was Selles Sus Cher is now "Tradition Du Chevre". Yes that fine "tradition" of using pasteurized milk that they started three months ago.

Not really a dream post

My friend Rachael was in my dreams all night last night. Thankfully, I never remember my dreams so you will be spared the details. But I hate that moment of waking up after seeing her in a happy dream, feeling restful and satisfied, then realizing that no, she’s still dead. I'm tired of rediscovering that I’ll never see her again.

The feel-good post of the month

My arm/wrist is much better. Instead of everything hurting me, it seems to be mostly just cheese wrapping (not cutting/pricing/sealing etc.) and, unfortunately, typing. But it's getting there. I still wont be around LJ much for awhile because I’m way behind on writing deadlines I had to put off in September. Plus, the worker-coop conference I help organize is right around the corner so I’m a little crazed working on it and I’ll be out of town for the conference right after my birthday.

But I miss my electronic friends. Awwwww.
