Can we admit now that the recall election has been a huge success? Grey Davis signed more "progressive" legislation in the last three months trying to win this election than he would have in eight years as Governor. If this thing strikes some fear into the career office holders, all the better. Sure it sucks that we’ll have Governor Groper in Sacramento, but in 100 days we can start the fun-train rolling again. More recalls more of the time!

and thank you, i totally agree with your recall assesment. although i have to say, i'm not as concerned about Arnold 'i admire hitler's ability to rouse an audience (or whatever the exact quote is)' being a mysoginist pig as i am with his scarry politics. oh well, at least there will be afterschool programs again.

All of the legislation passed will do no good if the Gropinator wins since he'll just find a way to reverse it. Although recalling Arnold shouldn't be hard since he's just bound to do something really stupid.

Well, the Gropinator won't be able to reverse anything without the help of the solidly Democratic (not democratic) State Senate. I don't have any faith in them, obviously, their sinecure-based voting is a big reason why the whole recall has been such a huge grass roots movement. But I do think that they have enough petty, party politics to vote as a bloc against Ahhhnold because the recall has been such an embarrassment to the Dems.

An embarrassment that has been a long time coming.
