Cheese conference 2007

The American Cheese Society Conference is in just a few weeks and while it's a must-attend event for me, sadly most of my co-conspirators in cheese cannot attend. Usually my longtime friend in cheeses, Sheana Davis puts on a big cheese and beer party befriending the smaller dairies, the hotel staff, the local brew pub folks, and freaks me meet on the street. This year I'm on my own. Even one of my Vermont friends just moved back to SF.

The good news though, is that I have been accepted as an aesthetic judge for the cheese competition. Even with the amount of shit I've heard cheesemakers talk about the judges when their cheese doesn't win, I've always wanted to take part in the judging. Heh. Wish me luck and let's hope that I don't get assigned all the cheese-with-stuff-in-it categories.
