1. Those Vacherin Mont D'or I wrote about last week were even better than I hoped. I'm going to the airport this afternoon to get more. Hopefully they are there and refrigerated when I arrive since they were hanging out in Milwaukee yesterday for some reason instead of sitting in the airport walk-in fridge.
2. I have been to Milwaukee twice. Once for a Cheese Conference where the Secret Service wanted to arrest us for carrying (cheese) knives because John Edwards was staying at the hotel at the same time, and once with
prof_southbay on the way to Ann Arbor because some awesome LJers (
teabee and
n2plus6 who never post anymore live there. I like Milwaukee. I would prefer if my cheese was in San Francisco though.
3. If you like cheese puns, check out this metafilter thread. Problems with posts tagged with cheese Thanks

4. I like cheese puns too much. In the new year, look for my complation of lyrics to cheese pun songs I sing at work.
5. I'm also thinking of a posting of pictures I found on my computer while cleaning out my attachment folder. People really should give their baby's photos titles with the kid's name on them (most of these were not from Ljers so don't get paranoid). I was totally guessing at times based on the ethnicity of the parents cuz, you know, babies are funny looking.
6. I had an awesome weekend with
smallstages. Awesome.
7.
beelavender and family are in town and I've already gotten drunky-drunky with the adult members. I'll be hosting a Bee B-day party at my place in early January so watch this space for info. Let me know if you want a special invite.
8. Do you guys know about the Green Apple outlet? It's at the old Busvan for Bargains storefront on Clement a couple of blocks away. I am not talking about the Green Apple Annex a couple of door down, this is just a discount store. If you can spend some time, you can find some deals. It has a different name, some appley pun (Apple Seed? Apple Core? Wormy Apple?) that I can't remember.
9. Oh what else? I feel like I should try to make it to ten entries. Hmmmmm. Oh yeah, I'm really mad at you LA and NY folks because "Persepolis" is opening in your cities first. Booooooooo!
10. I have avoided hearing almost any x-mas music this year. Having worked at a mall for many holiday seasons, x-mas music really makes me want to kill. While I think I could cop a diminished capacity plea do to that factor, I'd rather not have to push it in court. Thank you, retailers of San Francisco, for making life bearable this x-mas-oriented-festival-of-capitalism season.

Date: 2007-12-21 10:21 pm (UTC)Too bad I'll be out of the country; hopefully it will stick around for a couple of weeks so I can see it when I get back!
Thanks!

Date: 2007-12-20 05:52 pm (UTC)I can say no such thing about the east bay stores I've been in to. It'll all be over soon, tho.

Date: 2007-12-20 06:01 pm (UTC)Yeah, I avoided the big stores completely this year. I needed a couple of name-brand presents for relatives but I did those online. There's no x-mas music online unless you want there to be!

Date: 2007-12-20 06:19 pm (UTC)All the same, this time of year, I would most definitely prefer being in San Francisco to either.
Uff da, it's miserable there in the winter months.

Date: 2007-12-21 02:27 pm (UTC)I had the same experience when I was working at the Walker Art Center. A lot of the "sound sculptures" played on a continual loop, over-and-over again, six days a week, for eight hours a day.
If someone had tried to vandalize the sculptures, I would have been happy to lend a hand.
(I'm not sure which was worse: the bad poetry with echo effects, or the guy who made a two hour video of a couple of parked cars, with Neil Diamond playing in the background.)
