This photo post them is dedicated to tlacuiloliztli. I didn’t have teddy bears, but I think this comes close, at least spiritually.



This photo was taken at the SPCA office at the mall where I worked in a photo lab. It was the rat’s birthday. No one thought he would survive that long after the horrible accident. But he believed in himself. He overcame his injuries. He worked through the pain of physical therapy and the emotional pain of mourning his lost family and friends. Though suspicious, he let the humans feed him until he could feed himself. He liked cookies. He did survive. At least, until he didn’t.
